Since the last update GPX Viewer Pro does not show my location. The app seems to be working fine otherwise, it just does not show my location which means I cannot record a track either.

I tried:

  • restarting the application
  • restarting the phone
  • clearing the app's cache
  • clearing the storage
  • reinstall

After reinstall the application asks for permission to access location. I grant it, but still no location shown on the map. Usually, when I open an app that fetches location data, I can see a green dot in the top right corner of the screen. That green dot is not visible when I open GPX Viewer.

GPS works on the phone for sure. I have a bunch of GPS tester apps on my phone, all of them can acquire the location.

GPX Viewer (not the PRO version) produces the same issue.

I think I found out what the problem is. It seems that GPX Viewer depends on Google Play Services. I don't have that on my phone anymore. It would be nice if the app could work without it, too.
